Hi there, members and patrons!
My apologies for not keeping you informed about the goings-on at the theatre, but, as usual it has been a busy time both personally and at the theatre.
The bookings for “Pack of Lies” will open on Monday, 15th August, giving you a month to reserve your seats. This play is an intriguing drama of a true story about spies and espionage. Directed by one of our best, Gordon Park, it really is not to be missed. Play dates are 15th, 16th, 17th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th 25th (matinee), 29th and 30th September with a final night on Saturday 1st October. Book on-line, by email to Patrick on [email protected] or by phoning 0499 954 016 Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 9 am and 12 noon, from the 15th August.
You may also notice when you visit us for “Pack of Lies” the upgrades of our toilet areas. They have all been given serious upgrades and replacements made. Our Maintenance Manager, Wally Fry, plus a band of volunteers and tradesmen have been very busy completing the enormous amount of work needed in time for our next production.
The final production for 2022 will be “42nd Street” – the all-singing, all-dancing musical that we last staged some 23 years ago! We are delighted to have Drew Anthony, a well-credentialed and renowned director/choreographer bringing this “backstage musical” to the Limelight stage. I had an on-stage presence last time, but will be stage managing this time – no tap shoes for me! Dates for this production are opening on 24th November and closing on the 10th December. Bookings will open on Monday 24th October.
In my next letter I will give you details of our productions for 2023. The reading committee have been hard at work reading 10 different submissions, assessing them for the Limelight stage and a recommended list for your theatre committee to compile a program of diverse and interesting comedies, dramas and musicals. Watch this space!
See you at the theatre
