From the President – August 2016

Hi Everyone,

 

As I’ve mentioned on a couple of occasions previously, the committee have been developing a strategic plan which will enable us to demonstrate to the city that we have a sound plan for where the theatre is headed over the next five years and some of the things we have to do to get there. We’ve also included a financial plan which is one of the City’s requirements of our lease.

We have now endorsed this document and we’ll shortly publish it on the website. We have allocated a committee member to be responsible for each of the accountabilities in the document and we’ll be tracking progress at committee meetings. Please have a read and let one of your committee know of any comments/improvements you may have. This will be a living document, and hopefully committees in the future will revisit it at least annually to revise it to meet the current environment.

You may have noticed that the new online booking system is now up and running. A huge thank you must go to Nigel Rarp for all his work with both PatronBase (the developers of the booking system) and the Commonwealth Bank (who manage our credit card processing) to finally get the system working. I think it’s fair to say that the lack of an online system has had an impact on attendances at the last couple of shows so hopefully Skylight should benefit from the new system’s availability.
