Synopsis
Cecily, Reggie and Wilfred are in a home for retired opera singers. Each year on October 10, there is a concert to celebrate Verdi’s birthday. Jean, who used to be married to Reggie, arrives at the home and disrupts their equilibrium. She still acts like a diva and refuses to sing. But the show must go on… Both funny and poignant; Quartet has been made into a film starring Billy Connelly, Tom Courtenay, Maggie Smith and Pauline Collins.
Cast
All characters are ex-opera singers
Cecily Robson | Happy with her lot, but showing signs of early dementia |
Reginald Paget | A real gentleman with a sardonic wit |
Wilfred Bond | Unkempt and untidy with a wicked repartee |
Jean Horton | An ex-diva with an ego to match |
All the characters are in their seventies, however this should not deter actors who are younger as we can “age” you.
There is absolutely no requirement to be able to sing as there is no singing on stage.
