Quartet
Synopsis
Written by Ronald Harwood
Cecily, Reggie and Wilfred are in a home for retired opera singers. Each year on October 10, there is a concert to celebrate Verdi’s birthday. Jean, who used to be married to Reggie, arrives at the home and disrupts their equilibrium. She still acts like a diva and refuses to sing. But the show must go on…Both funny and poignant, Quartet has been made into a film starring Billy Connolly, Tom Courtenay, Maggie Smith and Pauline Collins.

From the Director:
This year has been an extraordinary one for the theatre, with Covid-19 having a major impact on our seasons and on our show in particular. Orignally the season should have opened in April. When the virus hit and restrictions were introduced, we had no idea if or when we would be able to perform. So, like many of us, we resorted to technology to stay in touch, conducting virtual rehearsals in order to keep up some sort of momentum.
The enthusiasm of the wonderful cast and crew never wavered; and we are delighted to bring you this production at last.
